LED Colour Light Signal - APPROVAL OBTAINEDSignal House Ltd has now achieved full unrestricted approval from Network Rail for its range of LED Colour Light Signals. A copy of our Product Approval Certificate no PA05/03007 can be viewed here (file size 1.08MB).
For more information on the LED Colour Light Signal please visit our data sheets page here, or please contact us (pricing information is also available).
Full approval has been granted following completion of a successful viewing trial at Ayr and compliance to the Network Rail specification NR/SP/SIG/10062.
The SHL range of LED colour light signals is designed for use with multi-aspect signalling systems and is available in the full range of cases sizes to accommodate 1, 2, 3 or 4 individual aspects. In achieving full compliance, each signal has also maintained full backwards compatibility with existing filament lit main line signals. This means that a new Signal House Ltd LED signal can replace an existing filament lit colour light signal with no change to the existing wiring from the location case, or any changes to existing structure metalwork.
Other benefits include:
- Massive whole life cost benefit through high reliability and improved asset life. The minimum expected aspect life is 10 years.
- Independently replaceable aspects meaning that replacement is only required for the aspect that has failed (and not any of the others). Aspects can be easily replaced within a 9 minute period.
- Mimic of ‘first filament failure’ – the signal aspects will mimic a first filament failure when the optical output reaches a certain level. This gives a warning that the aspect requires replacement within a 3-6 month period. This removes any ‘guesswork’ in any aspect replacement programme.
- Guaranteed colour stability and optical output throughout the life of each aspect. As soon as the signal is operational it remains with perfect optical output – with no requirement for on-site output measuring.
